Hello and welcome to the Year 4 page!

Introduction to Year 4

In Year 4 we have a colourful, inviting classroom, overlooking the Ks2 playground, the school field and Gentleshaw Common in the distance. We always try our best in lessons and we work hard to demonstrate the Academy HART Values of Honesty, Adventure, Resilience and Teamwork.

Staff

Miss Walmsley is the Class Teacher and Mrs Silvester is the Teaching Assistant.

Planning

Every Half-Term we send more detailed curriculum overviews home for parents. Here is an example:

Year Group Specific information

At the end of Year 4, children take the national ‘Multiplication Tables Check’.

To prepare children for this test, we practise our times tables daily in school but it is important that children keep working on them at home too.

Take a look at some of the useful links below to help practise times tables at home.

Homework

In Year 4, we expect children to:

  • Read at least three times per week
  • Practise their weekly spellings list
  • Practise their times tables on TT Rockstars or equivalent

In addition, each half-term we set ‘Family Learning Projects’ linked to the curriculum being covered in school. Here is an example:
