Hello and welcome to the Year 6 page!
Introduction to Year 6
In Year 6, we have a wonderful, open classroom, which overlooks the spectacular views of the school’s fields and beyond. We work hard in lessons and always try our best. All members of the class support and help one another, showing a caring attitude at all times.
Miss Price is the Class Teacher in Year 6 and Mrs Hackett is the Teaching Assistant.
This is our long-term planning overview for Year 6:
Every Half-Term, we send more detailed curriculum overviews home for parents:
Year Group Specific information
At the end of Year 6, children take their SATs. These include an English grammar, punctuation and spelling test; an English reading test; a maths arithmetic and reasoning test; and a final maths reasoning test.
To prepare children for these tests, we practise papers at regular intervals during the year. These practice assessments will take place in the autumn and spring term. We also carry out frequent in-class assessments to help prepare the children throughout the year.

Our PE days are Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please come into school in PE kits on those days.
In Year 6, we expect children to:
- Read at least three times per week
- Practise their weekly spellings list
- Practise their times tables on TT Rockstars or equivalent
In addition, each half-term we set ‘Family Learning Projects’ linked to the curriculum being covered in school:
