Welcome to Little Deer Nursery

We are excited to introduce Little Deer Nursery, a nurturing and inspiring space where your child’s early years will be filled with love, learning and growth. Opening its doors in September 2025, we are committed to creating an environment that celebrates nature, curiosity and individual development. Our nursery will be designed to help children thrive through exploration, creativity and connection with the world around them.

A Legacy of Excellence

At Little Deer Nursery, we are honoured to carry forward the fantastic legacy of Little People Nursery, whose dedication to early childhood education has laid a solid foundation for the wonderful children who have attended. We are proud to continue the values of care, respect and personalised learning that have been the cornerstone of the nursery’s success.

Our Vision

Our vision is to create a warm, welcoming space that encourages children to explore, learn and grow in harmony with the natural world. We believe in providing a curriculum that is not only child-centered but also deeply rooted in the beauty of nature. From our woodland-themed activities to outdoor learning opportunities, Little Deer Nursery will ensure your child’s formative years are filled with joy, curiosity and discovery.

Our Approach to Early Years Education

At Little Deer Nursery, we follow an approach that values individuality, creativity and a connection to nature. Our staff are passionate about creating a secure, stimulating and inclusive environment where each child is encouraged to reach their full potential.

  • Learning Through Play: Our curriculum is based on the understanding that children learn best when they are actively involved in their own learning. Play is at the heart of our approach, allowing children to develop essential life skills while having fun.

  • Outdoor and Nature-Based Learning: We believe in the power of nature to inspire and enrich. From exploring the local wildlife to caring for our garden, children have the chance to engage in hands-on, outdoor activities that build both their physical and cognitive skills.

  • A Holistic Approach: We nurture the development of the whole child, from cognitive skills to emotional growth, fostering confidence, curiosity and a love of learning.

Our Facilities

Little Deer Nursery was awarded a generous grant of £150,000 from the School Based Nursery Grant (DfE). This funding has been used to completely refurbish our facilities, ensuring that we provide a modern, safe and inspiring environment for your child. Our nursery is carefully designed to create a warm, inviting environment for your child, providing:

  • Spacious, well-equipped rooms designed for creative play, quiet activities and group interactions.

  • A dedicated outdoor learning space where children can enjoy nature-based activities such as gardening, outdoor art and exploration.

  • A sensory-rich environment with natural materials that encourage sensory development.

  • Safe, secure play areas with child-friendly furniture and equipment.
